Stream Farm is a truly magical corner of the world, hidden away high up in the Quantock Hills of Somerset. They’re a diverse Organic farm which produce a wide range of really exceptional produce in a way which enriches and nourishes the land they farm. Having worked with them closely for years in my Restaurant Poco, I can vouch for how infectious their passionate belief in what they do and how they do it is.
Their herd of pedigree Dexter cattle & Hampshire Down sheep are certified Pasture For Life and graze truly stunning clover leys. Their rainbow trout grow in a series of ponds which are fed by the stream which gives the farm it’s name. Their flock of Organic laying hens roam the extensive orchard which provides the apples for their stunning juice. Their Large Black pigs are one of the rarest native breeds and roam freely across the hillside through woodland and bracken. Raw honey comes from their bee hives, the bees from which pollinate their orchards.
Put simply, the place is alive, you can feel it, smell it, hear it. The lilt of birdsong, the hum of insects, wildflowers & even the presence of apex predators like foxes & buzzards showing the richness of life on the land there, from the soil up.
