Rootle is a joyous collective & project using food to champion and celebrate what good food truly it - bang in season and farmed regeneratively on your doorstep. They use their suppers as a vehicle to showcase the wealth of exceptional produce their bounteous corner of Devon holds. Every element of every dish was chosen with intention and I won’t list them all, but particularly special I thought were the hogget & the beef they served. Both had been raised on the Flete Estate which hosted the supper, with the hogget being raised in the field we were in and both farmers in the kitchen that night, talking with excitement and passion about how they had raised their animals and their plans to nurture the land and soil they tend.
